So at low speeds or if the Stringbean is sitting and I turn the wheel I can hear a groan/wine coming from right behind the front left tire. It returns to center on its own just fine when driving and doesn't make any noise when turning at speed. no clicks, chunks, thumps, or thuds. I did swap out the power steering fluid but am certain the sound is coming from right behind the wheel. Any ideas?

I plan on yanking the wheel off tomorrow to take a look at it and see what I can find. Definitely not the noises you want to be hearing when trying to sell.

"Dat booty doe"

Edit: The pump groans but not angrily. I had an old F150 that the pump legit went out on it and that was GRAAAAANNGGGGGG. This is more of a mmmmmmmmm. Listened to both sides and only the side opposite of the pump was squeaking, like plastic on plastic almost. So I lifted it up and cranked the wheel.. no noise. All the boots and everything look fine. Set it back down, cranked the wheel and no noise. So maybe something stuck and lifting it up freed it? Who knows.

hmmm. are you sure you it isn't a PS pump noise coming through the the closest wheel arch? Might be on it's way out

Have you checked to see if the power steering belt is slipping? that's usually more of high pitched squealing noise, the pump itself would be more likely to make a groaning noise.

It could be something like the ball joints, which might make groaning noise turning the wheel while sitting still if they are dry, also taking weight off the wheels might make the noise stop. You'd want to get that fixed. A failed ball joint is no fun.,

I'm going to go with worn ball joint. Fits your symptom almost perfectly.
